The Church of the Holy Mother of God is one of Vanadzor’s clearest historical landmarks. The current building was completed in the nineteenth century, while the old Gharakilisa name points back to an earlier black-stone church tradition.

Visit respectfully, keep voices low in the yard, and leave time to look at the khachkars around the church grounds.
